I complained to the FCC and then about 2 months later I got a phone call on my cell phone from a representitive of the office of the president of T-Mobile. They were very helpful and understood the problems with the phone and how crappy it was that it broke so easily. They offered to refund my money or offered to sell me a new phone at the most discounted rate possible. Since I already got a refurbished shadow I just asked them to credit me the amount back. Even if they don't respond to BBB complaints they are johnny-on-the-spot with FCC complaints. If you are really upset and feel like you are being treated unfairly you should contact T-Mobile directly (not customer care, you need to go higher, check out this link for some phone numbers http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic38040.html) and if they don't care then complain to the FCC. "Ive now had two of the Shadows. Both screens crack. The first one Tmobile replaced. The second they won't saying I crushed it. It has to be a probelm with the screen to break so easy. I'm looking for more people who have had this problem so I can take it to Tmobile."I have gone through 4 shadows and every time they broke for no apparent reason. my last one I got the screen cracked for no apparent reason in the first week. This phone is truely a peice of crap, and it is extremely slow when I turn it on, nothing will work for about ten minutes. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Honestly I have NO idea what you people are doing to these phones!! I've been with T-Mobile for years and years and years, every one of my phones has been an HTC phone. Started with the Dash, upgraded to the Wing, Shadow and lately the G1. I have NEVER had a problem with any of these phones, they are very durable and TOUGH! I've dropped my Shadow God only knows how many times. It's been dropped on carpet, concrete, rocks, wood, and gravel. Yes I am ditzy with my phones, but it doesn't matter, they are durable and can edure my moronic moments. The worst one was when it feel two stories and got a chip on one corner. Which begs the question: Do you people torture these phones or something?It's astounding to me how you people can just whine and whine and whine. What can you expect? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I have gone through about * t-mobile dashes for the same reason, the screens on t-mobile phones are chinsy at best, I had a screen crack when my phone fell on the carpet lol.going through billing probs with them now Mario B. Do you find this valuable? |

Yeah..i work for t-mobile....Is a listed known issue for the shadow and the Dash... screw in bottom right corners are apparently to tight...as long as the crack starts at the bottom of the screen you are coverred under warranty... you will still run the risk getting the $100 out of warranty fee if they find it was from some kind of abuse

same thing i was on the bed and shadow fell and the screen broke on the hard floor go to icc wireless or world of wireless and they will fix it!

I as well have had that problem. I've had it for about 3 months, and I dropped it once onto a hardwood floor.... That didn't cause any noticable damage. a few months later, all sorts of problems start coming up. If not for my contract, I would be out of there very fast.

I had the exact same issue as dorishadow. I had my phone for about 9 months. Pulled it out of my pocket and the screen was white, looked like it had an ink spot on the lower right hand corner. I called T-mobile and went through all of the same; took out battery, soft reset, hard reset. Finally T-mobile offered to replace my phone. They did have me check the white dot on the back og the phone to see what color it was. White is good, red is bad; red means that it got wet which I'm sure would be an issue. It took less then 45 minutes to get resolved on the phone, they shipped my replacement (I paid 19.99 for three day). T-mobile knows about this problem, the rep I spoke to said this was`a fairly common problem. I just hope that the replacement doesn't do the same thing.

I bought this phone for my birthday because on my birthday is when my plan ends , so I was all excited that I bought this phone because my old phone had gotten stolen, when i finished charging it , I started to use it like all people do with there new phones , suddenly the Shadow starts to turn hot ! I freaked out so i dropped it like 1 feet off my bed and the screen cracked. 1 feet and it feel on carpet !!!! No wonder T-Mobile stopped selling it , its fragile and they wont make money out of it. T-Mobile should allow all current T-Mobile Shadow users like me to exchange the phone for a phone the same price or better because this is my 2nd T-Mobile shadow and If I don't take care of it like it was my baby it will break and phones are supposed to be made to resist falls.

Hi,I have the same problem. Plz help me. My shadow screen cracked inside suddenly even i did not drop it down..I call the T-Mobile customer care and as i have a warently they said they will send me a new phone and they told me to charge $110 and i disagreed with them.T-mobile said that is fine as your phone does not break outside. I received the new phone and i send them back the old phone. My still they send me a bill for charging me $110 . Please help me. Regards, Kiran Now T-Mobile saying that they charge $110 for that.
