HTC S710 - LCD SCREEN CRACKES
Jan 9 2008, 7:40 AM EST I bought my HTC S710 just 10 weeks ago, and my screen cracked while in my pocket! Did anyone has such a problem? Is this problem common with this phone? Do you know if warranty is valid for this damage? 4 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jan 10 2008, 4:08 AM EST I wonder if this problem with the screen of S710 is as common as it is for T-Mobile Dash. I read in a thread that for T-Mobile Dash the problem with the cracking screens was so common that HTC finally replaced the screens without any cost. Have anyone heard something like this for S710? Do you find this valuable? |

Jan 22 2008, 2:19 PM EST Mine cracked after just 6 days (in my pocket when it happened). I bought the insurance later that night. Later in the week they replaced my phone (since I now had the insurance). Last week (after just two weeks with the new phone), I pulled it out of my pocket and, sure enough, the screen was cracked. I now have to replace it again. Such a hassle. I'm trying to get Sprint to give me a different model b/c this WILL keep happening. Not to mention the fact that I miss about half my calls when the phone is in "sleep" mode. I hit the button to bring the screen up and I usually have some sort of missed call. Hate is too good a word for how I feel about this piece of junk. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Feb 24 2008, 1:48 PM EST My WIng LCD screen cracked one week after I purchased it. T-Mobile replaced the whole unit but is now trying to get me to pay for it, saying that I damaged it. Yesterday, the LCD on my replacement Wing cracked, less than a month after I received it. First time, it cracked while it on my desk -- I had used it just an hour earlier. The second time it cracked as I used my stulus to manipulate the scroll bar. There must be a design problem. I suspect they are using the same screen material as they used on smaller screens, which is structurally naive. The only other thing that I can think of is that the LCD is sensitive to temperature differentials, as in coming in from the cold. This is a relatively new product, and I suspect it has the same problem that their Dash had -- my understanding is that T-Mobile eventually acccepted fault for the Dash units, and extended the warranty to cover the cracked screens. Do you find this valuable? |

It is only for Dopod S300 and Qtek 8500. And in eBay in general there are no such screens. If though there is anyone who knows where I can get an LCD for HTC S710 pleaseeee let me know! :-) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jul 1 2008, 3:39 AM EDT yep... the HTC people in Australia are pathetic, i put it in 8 weeks ago, i finally got my quote and they are charging me $218.80 just for the replacement of the LCD screen. DONT BUY THIS PHONE, go for an iphone instead, there better and dont break as much! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
