$1,000.00 loss for AT&T & HTC...
Jan 8 2008, 6:07 PM EST | Post edited: Jan 8 2008, 6:07 PM EST
Well I have two units, a TYTNII (Kaiser) & the AT&T version Tilt 8925. I came to this device after 5 years with the BlueAngel. My BlueAngel still out performs the Tilt/Kaiser in overall responsiveness & video/gaming performance. I will be holding on to the devices for another 20 days (that's when my return period is up) but in the mean time I've gotten a pair of N95's. While I mis the touchscreen, the N95 kicks the Kaiser's teeth out hands down. No wonder the WM market share has suffered tremendously. The saddest part is that to date no official statement or notice of intent has been given by AT&T, HTC or any of the other sellers of the device. In the mean time I've got my trusty BlueAngel & my spanking new N95 to keep me going. My advice to anyone considering an HTC or WM device...DON'T DO IT! At least not until you've check out the N95 from Nokia. There serivce department helped me make a few changes last night & actually had answers to my questions, unlike HTC & AT&T. 31  out of 34 found this valuable. Do you?

If you read all of the forums on HTC phones that are the same (the Mogul, the PPC6800, etc) you will find that the phone is problematic (mainly anything to do with bluetooth). It is best just to return it since there is still not a fix todate. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

What you are asking for is out of the norm for most users of this type of device (I use my device for business rather than gaming and Youtube and Internet TV) which may be why you are having such a difficult time finding support… While I admire your drive for change, there are already many posts on this forum as well as others about this topic, there is even a petition. Can you please use the threads that are already going for this topic? It is quite disheartening to think that you found something that you were looking for only to find that it is yet another post of a complaint about the lack of video drivers.

@browntannis- that is your opinion (and seemingly that of HTC's), but how do you know what the norm for this type of device is? What's your source? Why talk about this in another thread when the OP's post is completely relevant to the subject of this page.

From what I can tell there are many people for who this issue is a problem- the online petition currently has 7,000+ signatures- as you can be sure that represents a handful of people who have that's a pretty good indication that there are many, many people who this is affecting.

As you can see in the above videos, this isn't just about multimedia or games, it's about the general performance of the device- anything that's displayed on the screen is being displayed at a speed expected of 10 year old devices, not a flagship product from one of the world's leaders in the manufacture of such devices.

I wish I'd known about this problem before my 14day trial was up- I almost certainly would have returned my handset and waited. Now I feel conned and disappointed- my primary use is for business, but it was also the other abilities of this device which swayed me to buying it.

What's most annoying is knowing that drivers are available from ATI and the tone of HTC's recent press release.

Please HTC, do the right thing and put someone on the deployment of the correct drivers.

Thanks
