8126 hard reset halts at "press Send to restore factory default"

I looked at my phone the other day only to notice the hard reset screen asking me to confirm it - "Press Send to restore factory default, Other keys to quit". No keys have any impact. Pressing the reset button with my stylus just blanks the screen and returns to this same confirmation screen.

Can anyone help me get past this? My preference is not to do a hard reset, but at this point I just want my phone to work.

Can you do a Soft Reset to get out of the Hard Reset Screen?

The soft reset just blanks the screen and returns to the same hard reset confirmation screen. 1  out of 8 found this valuable. Do you?

The send key is the green telephone icon key used to place a call. 9  out of 17 found this valuable. Do you?

I have had many issues with my HTC 8125, but when I am having the same issues you all sound like you are having, I simply would get the phone to the bootloader screen. When my 8125 goes into a funk, it is a non-stop loop of rebooting, and a hard reset does nothing. However, holding the Voice Command Button and the Camera Button together I think while pushing in the soft reset button and not letting go of voice command button and camera button until boot loader screen loads will get you to the bootloader. --terrible sentence structure but trust me instead of hard reset go for bootloader... at which point you will just need the OEM rom that came with your phone and good luck with that one. Two ways you can get the name of the file you need: search on google which could take hours (what usually would take me five minutes took hours) or use internet archive www.archive.org and go back one year to htc's support website and while the link there will not actually have the rom... it will have the name of the rom contained in the link... ergo you can use this name to search via torrent or google and acquire exact OEM rom. - dont know if this will help all of you but I hope it does. - John hickoreysmoked@aol.com Do you find this valuable?
