Text Message Stuck in Outbox

I have a message stuck in my outbox that will not delete and will not move to sent (or anywhere else for that matter). I am looking for ideas on how to remove this message. Every time I sync or power off the message automatically sends. Needless to say I am far down on that persons Christmas list right now.Any help would be appreciated. You will have to do a soft reset. Take the stylus and push it in to the soft reset button at the bottom of the phone which is right next to the storage card insert. Your phone will then restart but you wil not loose any of your contacts or other valuable content. DO NOT DO A HARD RESET!!!

same thing happened to me once but somehow it got deleted. now its back and i dont know what to do =(

Go off line then delete the file. It then should be gone.

So, I've tried going offline (via the airplane mode) and it still does not delete. Any other suggestions?

No idea if you actually need to go offline but I got rid of the message by going into my Deleted Items and removed it from there. When I did, it was gone from my outbox.

I have done a hard reset and I have done a soft reset and I can't get rid of that invisible text message. In the meantime my Treo keeps resetting because of that or at least it happened at the same time as that. Any advise??? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Got same issue. HTC Dash shows I have new text message but nothing there. Cant get rid of what you cant see.

This worked for me (without going offline). I could not delete it from the outbox (did nothing) nor could I mark it as unread; but I was able to delete it from the deleted items folder and it went away. Now my friend can stop being annoyed! I'm seeing the same problem. I've tried all solutions provided here except the hard reset. That is something I'm trying to avoid, I am currently on a business venture in Chicago and will not be able to resync with my office computer until I get more than 2 weeks off. I found the same message in my deleted items,and when I deleted it, it deleted from my outbox...Finally, can save money now!

I have the shadow and i same problem. earlier in the week my phone froze, and one text message remind in the outbox. i cant delete, or I tired to empty out the folder. also my phone died today and all of a sudden i have -2 unread texts. i did have a saying of -1 unread for months now but didnt bother me at all. Should i update something or what. i really dont want to reset my phone.

your suggestion doesn't work. Im not sure if it is a real message or just a glitch that says there is one in the out box. Ive just learned to ignore it.
