8500 stalls at startup
Dec 1 2007, 8:36 PM EST I can't get my Qtek 8500 to fully start up. It starts up normally, showing the Qtek screen. After briefly showing the HTC screen, the phone then shows the Microsoft Windows Mobile screen - and stays that way. I can shut it down and start again using the power button but it will not go beyond showing the Windows Mobile screen. I can use the outside buttons to control the camera. When I close the phone, the external screen shows the standard information including that I have reception. When I call the phone, I get the mailbox after a few rings. The phone doesn't ring or anything. I have taken out the battery, SIM card, and memory card, and let it sit for a while before trying again. I tried turning it on without the SIM card and got the expected warning but then the phone got stuck again. I have experienced some freeze-ups over the last few months and required me taking out the battery to restart the phone. I did a full reset reinstalling it completely a few weeks ago and think that the phone was freezing up much less frequently. Any thought what could be the cause? OS corrupted? Battery defective? SIM card? Something more serious? I have been using this phone for 1.5 years now and updated the ROM in February. Do you find this valuable? |
