I'm not sure I understand your question completely. Sounds like you've got it. Basically.. the device will default to the standard keyboard. If you want to use your full screen keyboard, you will have to change it everytime you soft-reset your device. But if you just hit the power button to turn it off, it should remember to use the full screen keyboard when you turn it back on.

You can get it here:

http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/fsk/?en

You can download the trial and use it for 15 days. After that, you can decide if you want to buy it for $9.95.

I installed the SPB full screen keyboard and really like it. It does not open automatically for any given operation. For simplicity's sake, I set up my side button to open the full screen keyboard with a short push (the long push now opens the camera). Now all I have to do is open a text message and click the side button... good to go. Hope this helps. 3  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

Is there a way to get the full keyboard without buying a 3rd party application? I've seen it pop up at times with all 26 letters and of course the one you can actually touch it and not have to use the stylus. I just don't know where to turn it on so it's always like that or at least make it a default. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Are you talking about the keyboard that has 2 letters per key? That's the SureType keyboard that comes with the Touch and I thought that if you start using it in just one of your applications, it becomes the default for all other apps. That is of course until you do a soft reset, then you'll have to set it again just once after the reset.

There is a full screen keyboard on the Touch with only one letter per keys that pops up at a few locations. If you open the Contact, but do not select the line where to type your search and have selected the TOUCH KEYBOARD as input, this is the one you will get. As soon as you select the line to type it reverts to the 2 letters per keys one. How can we stop that from happening?

I hope someone can answer this question as I too am a little pissed with the device I just bought and could not return. When you go to directly to a text message and hit the Input Panel Icon and have it set to the Touch Keyboard, the display is one number and letter per key. This would be the ideal one to use for texting since the keys are large enough for your fingers. As soon as you hit reply, it automatically changes to a 2 and 3 digits per key. If anyone knows how to change or correct this setting, it would be enormously appreciated.

Did you ever get an answer to this? I do see the full keyboard popping up now and then, but I cannot figure out how to keep it as the default. Thanks. Do you find this valuable?

I think the program to set the default keyboard is called sipchange or something like that. I know it has 'sip' in the name. I think it's floating around on PPCGeeks.com forums. I don't use it, as Touchpal comes up when I want it to (except the first time after I soft-reset.) Do you find this valuable?

You do not change it. Thats how it is. The interface with the smaler individual keys with only one character per key is intended for the input of passwords, web addresses ect. When texting, email, notes, calender ect, it uses the larger more finger friendly 20 key keyboard with predictive text. The two interface's will toggle depending what application or screen you are in. Do you find this valuable?
