Blackberry Connect bricked my phone???
Nov 28 2007, 7:04 PM EST
Installed blackberry connect over the air worked fine. Set up to sync with calendars, contacts, tasks and notes and it configured and it asked to reboot.

Boots up to the windows mobile 6 screen and just hangs there. Can still get calls, but pop ups for calls just start stacking on top of the WM6 splash screen. Tried the soft reset same thing. Tried a hard reset does not bring me to the screen where I get to say yes to wipe it :(. Any ideas on what to do next?

Due to black friday every store in my area is out of stock.... (Damn bought it the monday before black friday at full price)

Hard reset got it back, (had to try it 10+ times before I got it right) Looks like the original problem was me installing the BB Connect software onto the SD card. Do you find this valuable?

That's great to know. It took me a while to restore my phone with all the contacts, etc... (will never forget to backup again). I dropped the issue and held on to my BB curve and Tilt. I'll give it a shot again and maybe go back to life with one primary phone again. :)

Question for you. How much free memory after install?

With BB Connect (250 e-mails), Worldmate Pro and 500+ contacts I have 70MB left
I'm not sure why they could not say "DO NOT INSTALL on a Storage Card" knowing the consiquences. And who would not try to knowing you're just going to run out of memory like you did on the last phone. . .

It took a hard reset to get mine back, not too bad since BB Connect was the first thing I tried to install after putting in the card. The hard reset puts the phone back to the way it can from AT&T, so it will go through a whole reinstall process. Your SD card should be the same as before.

The hard reset is accomplished by pressing the two "-" buttons and the reset for about 5 seconds and then letting go of the reset while continuing to hold the "-"s until you get the screen asking for confirmation. It took me about 10 times to get it right. . .

the two "soft funtion" keys, next to the answer and hang up buttons. They both have a "-" on them. Do you find this valuable?

having the below text worked for me to get back phone from brick to real. However, my contacts and messages are gone. Honestly, the option to load BB Connect in SD card for Wizard should be advertised not to be selected. I have a O2 XDA Mini S.
========Text -=================
I had to hard-reset (not the first time) my Qtek 9100 today (I was futzing with system stuff and I zigged when I should have zagged), so I thought I would blog about it for those searching for an option other than 'Clear Storage'.

Option 1:
Start > Settings > Clear Storage (then enter in the number it requests and tap 'YES')

Option 2:
Hold down the Comm Manager button(top left) and Voice Command button(top right) buttons while performing a soft-reset (depress the reset button using the stylus); after you depress the soft-reset button, [contintue to hold the two side buttons] hold down the navigation pad for ~4 seconds until you are prompted on screen [you can release the side buttons now]. Press the Send (Talk) button (i.e. the left telephony button) - or whichever button your system prompts you for.
