Using Sprint HTC Touch and Macbook pro.
Nov 28 2007, 4:52 AM EST
I have had this phone for almost one week now. It has great features but I need to be able to sync with my macbook pro. I have parallels but I am having trouble syncing in the parallels mode also. I figured out how to use the phone as a modem WITHOUT buying ANYTHING from Mark/space...no need to do that. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to sync with the mac...I have all the Microsoft office programs in both mac and parallel mode. Thanks.

Use Missing Sync for Windows Mobile ( http://www.markspace.com/products/windowsmobile/mac/windows-mobile-sync-software.html ) It works perfectly!

First you need a tethering plan from your provider. If they suspect that you have been tethering with your data plan they will charge you. I tether my iMac using Internet Sharing program in my program folder and a bluetooth connection. It works well and the speed in what you would expect. Do you find this valuable? |

If you have parallels (Running Windows Im guessing) you should be able to sync it fine with either ActiveSync (XP) or Mobile Device Manager (Vista).I am able to. Do you find this valuable? |

They charge you $40 for the program and $30 every time they update it for something Bootcamp does for free and twice as good. Again, Active Sync will sync your info but it will not tether. How did you get your MAC Book Pro to recognize your HTC Touch? I have the HTC 6800 with Verizon and the verizon rep thought he could get it going for me... and no such luck. I have not been able to use the phone as a modem feature the entire time I've had it.

So the battery drains very quickly.. I did it one day just to see if it could be done It worked, but I forget the steps. If I have time, I will do it again, and record the steps it took. In the mean time establish a bluetooth connection and see if you can fiddle enough to make it work. Do you find this valuable? |
