Telus HTC P4000 Reboots!
Hi! First post. My telus HTC p4000 has a problem now where it's become unuseable. If i touch the touchscreen for about 5-10 seconds the unit will reboot. Also, sometimes it will reboot for no reason, just when i handle it. I bought this unit second hand and has worked for me for the passed 2 months, until yesterday. It hasn't received any major bumps or drops. I've hard-reset the phone and re-upgraded to WM6 but nothing has changed, except my contacts are gone :P
Has anyone else had this problem? Any fixes?

Telus p4000 Alarm problem when charging
When my Telus P4000 HTC is plugged in, alarm set and then the phone in off/standby mode, the alarm does not go off. If I unplug the phone, and set the alarm, then in off/standby mode, the alarm will work.
Anyone else having this problem? I'm using WM6. Does it do this with WM5? I think telus needs a ROM update to fix this. I see that Bell and Sprint phones are having the same problem. Is there a fix for them?

Seriously pissed off with Telus P4000 (Titan - Mogul)
i owned a p4000 for about 4 weeks and LOVED it. one day, it slipped off the couch and onto the CARPET and stopped working. nothing worked. no charging indicator, wouldn't turn on, etc... it had no sign of dammage (no scratches, bumps, lcd was fine, etc...) and i brought it to Telus and when they opened it they said the moisture stickers were red so since it had taken moisture, there was nothing they could do.
I couldn't believe it!!! the phone had NEVER seen water. not even used in the rain!!!!! the tech support guy said it maybe absorbed some of my sweat from being in my pants... if this is the case, this phone is a serious piece of CRAP!!!! and i definitely don't recommend it unless you plan on wearing kid gloves anytime you go near it...
anyways, i'm wondering what i can do... the replacement cost is upwards of 600$ which isn't exactly chump change for me. I need a solution because right now i'm on the verge of either going with another carrier and a blackberry (i know... a taboo word around here! haha).
i apologize for the tone of this post, but when we spend so much money for a product, we expect it to be worth it...

HTC P4000
Well, the good news is that you only need 2 pieces of software from that installation disk to synchronize with your computer. They are ActiveSync, which you can download off microsoft.com, and MS OUTLOOK.. The bad news is that Outlook is a licensed piece of software so I doubt Telus would provide you with another installation disk. Another way of obtaining Outlook is if you have MS Office. With most versions of Office there is an Outlook installation included.
Also, when you say your P4000 is not producing a connection, do you mean that the ActiveSync software is not recognizing it?

I have a P4000 and when I upgraded to WM6, I began to have bluetooth issues and alarm issues commonly found on the Moguls. Mogul got their fix Nov. 29, 2007. Can Telus expect a fix anytime soon?

p4000
"zzz ive had this for about a month or so and no wm6 now sprint gets it w. wm6? I WANT WM6, anyone have ne ideas?
" telus data support told me today that it would be about 3-4 weeks and would be posted on the website like it was for the UT Starcom. I tried to use the rom upgrade for the mogul (Same unit), I did this with my UT Starcom as well) but they have now included a vender ID somewhere in the rom, so no luck.
I basically had a big fight with the Telus guy trying to impress upon him that Telus is always the last out of the gate for upgrades and that it is do to the fact that they spend so much time writting out support for various features that they want you to get from them for more $$$$.
Cross your fingers and toes.

P4000 & PPC6800 phone answering problems
At work we have a Bell PPC6800 and I personaly own a Telus P4000.
Both has experienced the same problem: If the Data Network of the mobility company is active when the phone ring, pressing the answer physical button, the answer software button on the bottom bar or pressing the softkey representing the bottom bar button, the phone application doesn't start and all freeze during the call reception.
It stops ringing while frozen and the caller keeps on hearing the ringing tone until voicemail get the call. Then the phone gets back to normal with a "missing call" notification. And the Voicemail indication if the caller left a message.
If the Data Network is off and somebody calls, everything is working well.
We had to hard reset both phone to solve the problem.
It works since then. But will it come back?
This phone is a real pain. We had to hard reset it twice for the PPC6800 and 3 times for my personal P4000.
There were also another problem with the Data Network of my Telus P4000. Whenever the network tried to connect it asked for a username and password then freeze. THERE ARE NO USERNAME AND PASSWORD FOR THE CDMA1X "MODEM" CONNECTION! That was the cause of my first hard reset... Second one was the Data Network vs. Phone answering problem described before... Third was no access to the upper bar after a reset (no Start even with the flag hard button)...
My friend has a HTC Touch and it works easier. Some freezes thought. And there are unlimited data network plan for both Bell (CAN$7) and Telus ($15). No such deal for the PPC6800 and P4000. Just synching my P4000 with DirectPush took my 8 MB plan (CAN $40) in 2 weeks. I disabled it before I got CAN$100 of charge just getting synchronized!

New ROM from Telus
You probably all know this already... but Telus has announced (on their product page) an updated ROM for the P4000... comes with GPS and all!! Which means... no more searching the web for hacks and no voiding warranties and no countless hours doing reboots. And so far, it works very well. I would not swap my P4000 for an iPhone! Have a great day

Telus P4000 issues
Battery life: I only get about 18 hours standby, and maybe 3 on talk. Anyone doing better -- and if so, why?
Sound: When not using vibrate, sound simply decides to disable -- don't know why, but it causes me to miss calls. Anyone got a solution? Freezing: When phone goes to sleep ... it sometimes won't wake up -- have to pull the battery to reset? Anyone solve this? I bought the phone about 45 days ago, and am on my second one. First was Mobile 5 --> new one is under Mobile 6 Pro.
