6700 professional version

"The XV6700 only came in Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC Phone edition. The professional designation is new and applies to Windows Mobile 6 devices that have a touchscreen. Officially, Windows Mobile 6 is not available for the XV6700, but there is a cooked rom available over at www.ppcgeeks.com. "

WiFi won't turn on

My WiFi won't turn on. Simply put, I tap the icon, wait a few seconds while the quadcolor icon swirls and then an x through the icon. No go. Any thoughts?

Welll you have update your bios version. So it will allow you to use WIfi when the phone's radio is turned on. (phone service.)

Xv6700 phone answer delay

When someone calls me, and my phone i on standby, it takes almost 12 seconds for it to ring and let me answer, so by the time i can press answer, the phone goes to voicemail

this is extremely annoying, and troublesome. anyone know how to fix this?!?!?!?

First, SMS tones have to be .wav and then you have to copy it to your devices Windows folder. Once you do that, it should be available to select to SMS in Sounds and Notifications.

Cannot Hear Incomming or Outgoing Calls without the headset plugged in

Hey Everyone. It seems that my XV6700 thinks the headset is plugged in (when it is not). When a call comes in or is made, I cannot hear anything. I can only use the phone with the headset. Any suggestions to get it back to normal.

XV-6700 problem / questions

I have 2 issues
1) I know how to program the buttons to do what I want. However, on this one phone no matter what I tell button 5 to do it always brings me into notes. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?

2) whenever I make an outgoing call using any bT headset it dials the # rings and when the call is answered the phone disconnects me. this does not happen when not using the Blkuetooth. Any help please

I also have the same problem. It is a known issue that involves re writing the some reg keys. if you google xv6700 and button 5, you will see a post from a guy who seems to have solved the problem. Unfortuneately, his solution will not stay with the phone if you have to do a soft reset which will be often with this phone. My problem involves the use of MS voice command 1.6. I mapped it to button 5. If I have to do a reset, I loose it. My quick solution is to to put the VC icon in the start menu and it works ok.
I'm not sure if this helps but know that there are others out there with the same problems.

I'm waiting for microsoft to come out with a fix.

VX6700 Alarm Sounds

Do anyone know how to add different alarm tones other than the factory ones which sucks really bad. If I'm sleep, I can't hear the "DING" or other chime sounds thats on there.

You should be able to just save any .wav file in your My Device\Windows folder. Once you do that, it should show up on your list of available sounds and notifications.

Missing CapsLock and NumLock Indicators

Hey Everyone. I can't find a way (built in or by adding software) to get my XV6700 to display any indication when the shift, caps, or numlock functions are on through the built-in keyboard Any ideas?

(Note: when I use a separate bluetooth keyboard, "C" and "N" indicators do appear when I activate these functions).

Eliminate "last call" from the main phone screen

Can the "last call" display be eliminated from the main phone screen? I would prefer bigger numbers to make the touch screen easier to use and I keep inadvertantly calling back the person I "last called"

I believe there is a Windows Mobile dialer replacement with bigger numbers which also might support customization to not show the last number dialed. I need to find it myself, I'll ask the guy who told me about it to send the link.

Multiple recipients on email

I couldn't find a way to create an email distribution list within Outlook Mobile on my 6700 and then I simply tried listing several email addresses, separated by semicolons, in a new contact (in the "email" field). Surprisingly (to me at least), when I sent an email to this contact it was sent to all the addresses on the "list"! Of course when you place the contact (i.e. list) name in the BCC field all the recipients are hidden.

It may be that this tip is well known or that there are alternative ways to accomplish this, but for me this is quite helpful.
