Windows Media Player Tips
Transfer music and videos to your device
- To transfer files between your device and PC, you must first connect your device via USB and then open ActiveSync. Once your device is recognized by your PC, the ActiveSync window will indicate “Connected.”
- Press “Explore” and your device’s My Documents folder window will pop up. You can drag and drop your media files from your PC to this folder and subfolders. If you would like to transfer media to your miniSD card, double click the “My Windows Mobile-Based Device” icon and access the Storage Card folder.
- If you would like to move a file on your device to a different folder, Navigate to Start > “File Explorer.” Select the media file you would like to move and press Menu > Edit > “Cut.” Navigate to the desired destination folder and press Menu > Edit > “Paste.” The media file will now be located in the new destination folder.
*It is recommended that you store your music in the My Documents folder and your videos in the My Videos folder.
Access your music and videos on the device
- Open Windows Media Player at Start > “Windows Media”
- Your media library should be displayed. If not, navigate to the library by pressing Menu > “Library…” In the media library, the following categories will be available:
- To update your library with all the currently available media on your device, press Menu > “Update Library…” Upon completion, WM will indicate the total number of media files on your device and storage card. All your music and videos will be available in “My Music” and “My Videos,” respectively.
- To access your music or video files, click on either “My Music” or “My Videos.” Navigate through the different categories or select “All Music” / “All Video” to see all available:
