The upgrade when and if it comes will be released by AT$T. I have heard conflicting reports as to whether AT$T is going to offer the upgrade for the Fuze.

I received 3 different emails from Microsoft talking about the fact that it's released. However, they direct you to links for the cellphone carriers and/or the cellphone manufacturers to see if an update for your specific phone is available yet. AT&T's website only advertises their new HTC phone the PURE (in the US). No mention of upgrades for us yet. It would be nice to have a 'legal' copy of 6.5. Just because that means that Microsoft may have gotten most of the bugs out and made some improvements. Somebody, ANYBODY....what's the REAL deal?

The information that sparked the question said that all devices that are running 6.1 should be able and compatible to 6.5. I guess i will just have to wait and see if AT&T will release anything. Thanks Guys.

I am an ATT HTC Fuze owner and it is time to tell ATT that what was once a technological limitation on upgrades no longer cuts the ice.

There are two things to know regarding an OS upgrade:

1) PDAs have become so sophisticated and it makes OS upgrades possible. In the past, these devices were too "cyber-dumb" to make an OS change. No longer. Time for service providers to get upgrades into this new generation of PDA as they are now quite similar to your PC. This should be only good news for high end PDA owners.
2)The bad news-there is money to be made by both soft and hardware fabricators and "planned obsolesce" always plays a hand in upgrades.
It is really up to the service providers to get off their butts and upgrade the power PDAs. If not, they are wasting both their customers money and potentially may lose customers base if they dont upgrade. The roadblocks that once made this impossible to do are gone. The more that we customers shake their crates about this matter can only help in the long run. Good service should be provided as I am paying ATT a crazy sum for my service.

Bottom line-make noise with your service provider. Don't let them get away with using excuses that are out of date with the technology we own!
