I have gone into alerts and checked the box for getting a flashing screen alert and then closed the alert & notification setings. After doing so I have tested
it by calling my 6800 from another phone but I have never gotten the flashing screen alert. I don't see where I have done anything wrong but after numerous times it still does not work. Could this be due to Verizon or am I somehow doing something wrong. I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

It seems that this new YouTube Mobile service is based on xHTML and uses 3GP videos with H263/AMR codec and RTSP streaming. I keep getting the error that the RTSP protocol is not supported, is there any way to fix this, or are there any workarounds?
BTW I am on a TMobile Dash smartphone...

I downloaded the xda developer patch to my TILT. I can now watch youtube, but the audio quality is scratchy. How do I fix this? Also,on my Tilt I visited nbc.com and clicked on an image to watch a segment of Late Night. It opened in media player. I cannot see the video, which is what I thought I would be watching, but I have audio which is very clear. The file extension is .wmv.............

I downloaded the HTC Streaming Media Player so now I can watch youtube videos, but now I seem to have an issue with Exchange Server. Normally email sent to me via Exchange server are immediately delivered to my Tilt, but now they don't. If I use the menu option to Send/Receive, I get the updated emails, but they're now not automatically delivered to my phone. I thought of re-establishing the connection to Exchange Server, so I tried to delete the setup for Exchange Server, but it's grayed out so I can't. Anyone else with this issue? More importantly, if you have it what did you do about it?
Thanks, Arthur

I have just gotten an HTC Touch and am trying to find out why the heck I can surf the net, but not YouTube - so here I am.
The info at the beginning of all this says, "Recently, YouTube had updated their site so that additional mobile devices could view their mobile website, so long as you had the appropriate media player. More recent HTC devices like the TyTN II and the Touch came with an application called HTC Streaming Media Player, which allowed users to view sites like YouTube. " Well, I have a Touch and I have no idea how to access this Streaming Media Player application you speak of - shouldn't it access it by itself? Where is it and how do I use it? My 'phone' DOESN'T allow me to view sites like YouTube. I just finished over an hour of doing vtap.com and am about to scream or pull my hair out. vtap will let me view the people's crappy homemade stuff, but the videos I WANT to see, like real music vids won't work. Is it possible to download these types of things directly from the site into my phone or do I HAVE to transfer them from a PC? What am I doing wrong here? |

This worked great! Just two things though ...
1. The volume is pretty low even though I have it set at 100%. It's tough to hear the videos. Any suggestions? 2. It took me a few minutes to find the .cab file because I couldn't find File Explorer on my phone. D'oh! It would be more helpful if the above instructions showed Programs>TOOLS>File Explorer. You left the TOOLS part out. Thanks again for posting this fix. I've had my Tilt for 3 weeks. I haven't really had the time until now to search for the solution. You guys made this easy.
