TyTN II Tweaks and Hacks

Changing the Tytn II Keyboard slide sounds

Changing the Tytn II Keyboard slide sounds is quite simple. Using this method will actually create a new Keyboard Slide sound “profile” allowing you to select the profile at will. To complete this hack you will need a registry editor. I used PHM Registry Editor, which worked well for me.

You can use any wav file as either an “in” sound or an “out” sound or both. Here’s how to do it:

1. Create the wav file you are going to use. If you need to edit/convert etc you just use a program like audacity.

2. Rename the wav files. The keyboard sound files on Tytn II use a naming convention of <number>_in.wav and <number>_out.wav. Your phone ships with three sound profiles, 0,1, and 2. So name your wav files 3_in.wav and 3_out.wav.

3. Copy your new wave files to the Windows Directory on your phone.

4. Edit the registry. a. Open your registry editing tool of your choice and browse to HKLM\Software\HTC\SlidingSound b. Create a new key and name it “3” (less quotes) c. Within the “3” key, create the following string values:

Value Name Value Data
Default (Name of your sound profile)
in 3_in.wav
out 3_out.wav

5. Change your keyboard sliding sound. Click Start > Settings > Personal > Keyboard Sliding Sound. Change the drop-down menu to your new sound profile.

there are 3 easy steps to enabling GPS on htc tytn 2 ,
1) download and install resco file explorer (registry editor) on your mobile phone.
2) search the registery for a file named 'gpsid.dll'
3) the search will find 2 files , rename the files in the registry to become 'gpsid_qct.dll'
and the gps will work !! on com port 4.
