Start Calendar in Month ViewThis is a featured page

Would you like your calendar to automatically start in Month View rather than Day? This is an option and can be accomplished using the following steps:

  1. Connect your device to your PC.
  2. If using Activesync, select Explore, if using Windows Mobile Device Center select File Management>Browse the contents of your device.
  3. Open your Windows folder.
  4. Locate the "Calendar" file (it's a shortcut, but doesn't show the ".lnk" extension)
  5. Drag the file to your desktop (turn on viewing of hidden files if you don't have it on already)
  6. Change the properties of the file to turn off the Read-Only flag.
  7. Open the file in Notepad. The contents should look something like this:
    • 21#:MSCALENDAR?:calendarapp
  8. Change the contents to read:
    • 21#"\Windows\poutlook.exe" calendar -vm?:calendarapp
  9. Save the file and copy back to your phone.

You may also want to update the shortcut under "\Windows\Start Menu".

Here's what you do:
1) Explore the files on your phone through ActiveSync and go to \Windows
2) Find the "Calendar" file (it's a shortcut, but doesn't show the ".lnk" extension)
3) Drag the file to your desktop (turn on viewing of hidden files if you don't already)
4) Change the properties of the file to turn off the Read-Only flag.
5) Open the file in Notepad. The contents should look something like this:
21#:MSCALENDAR?:calendarapp
6) Change the contents to read:
21#"\Windows\poutlook.exe" calendar -vm?:calendarapp
7) Save the file and copy back to your phone.
8) You may also want to update the shortcut under "\Windows\Start Menu".
