Software Upgrade
In late June 2006, Cingular and HTC released a new "AKU 2.0" upgrade to the Windows Smartphone operating system.

What it does:
- Big feature is Push Email. It's really really good and fast!
What's wrong with it:
- T9 text entry is having big issues ... if you type fast at all, it stops recognizing T9 and thinks you're holding down the buttons, triggering numbers instead of text. Not good. Solution/workaround: type slowly in text/email. (reported by Ben)
- Also, there are reports of missed calls with the upgrade.

Since I installed the new firmware, my phone frequently says "Missed Call" and hangs up on the caller even when I explicly hit the answer button. This occurs about once out of every five calls (I've tested this statistic by repeatedly calling myself from another phone). I wouldn't be surprised if this had something to do with the T9 problems, indicating some keyboard problem in general.

I keep trying to upgrade my HTC 621 with the upgrade provided off of the HTC website. I keep getting a connection error and it stops the upgrade at 3%. Not sure what is going on. I have the power management settings adjusted so the phone and screen will stay on at all time. Are there any particular things I should do to the pc I am loading the software from? Really want to try this update, but keep running into the same wall.

with key pad locked 4 keys are still active when removing phone from case ingnore button is pushed and call goes to VM ?

Any word on if HTC/Cingular will provide an update to Windows Mobile 6? It sounds like T-Mobile is providing this to some customers, but I'm not sure to which HTC devices.
