Phone has a problem - it won't connect via USB anymore. I get the following message from window "one of the USB devices (the phone) attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it".
Phone still charges and headset works - any ideas?

When the headset jack moves it gets disconnected and this results in the call being dropped. Is this common problem OR should I exchange my phone from Cingular.
Thx.

I am trying to connect my 3125 to my pc via bluetooth and sync my contacts.
I have made the connection to the pc. But the 3125 will not establish the serial port connection. I check the box for serial connect and hit refresh. A message pops up on my pc monitor that serial port 7 is connected. Then seconds later the message pops up that it has been disconnected. If I try to make the connection from the pc, I get the message that the device does not allow pairing. I have activesync on both the pc and the 3125. |

| SpockBones | Crappy little proprietary connector | 2 | Mar 16 2008, 11:46 AM EDT by tortlawman | |||

The crappy little proprietary connector used for headphones, USB, and power failed on my first Cingular 3125...I pulled out the USB cable I was using to sync with my PC and the little bugger came out with it! Fortunately the phone was under warranty so the solution was twofold: 1) get a replacement (appears to be new; not a refurb...but still didn't have the latest OS), 2) use Bluetooth for headphones and sync where possible...minimize the use of plug-in connectors except to charge.
Anyone else have this problem? Just looking at the surface-mount connector that came out it appears to be a very poor and fundamentally unreliable design (I'm an electronics engineer - worked for Compaq...I know about this stuff).

| tlovejr | External buttons kill my calls | 1 | Dec 12 2007, 3:18 PM EST by tlovejr | |||

Thread started: Dec 7 2007, 1:00 PM EST

I've been using my 3125 for about a month now and love it - except for one thing. As a male, I keep the phone in my front pocket (as opposed to a purse or whatever). When the phone rings and I try to take it out of my pocket the 2 buttons on the front (left arrow and right arrow) will either mute or send the call to VM. I miss about 75% of my calls because of this.
To my knowledge there are only two options for answer: open to answer or any button to answer. Both act the same in this situation. I can also disable the external buttons, but once a call comes in, the buttons reenable. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to NOT have the buttons do that? If not, I'm either going to have to remove the buttons or get rid of the phone. :-( HELP Thx in advance.

1.I am missing calls. My phone rings sometimes and other times calls go directly to voice mail.
2. I subscribe to ATT. I cannot go to the internet. I cannot go to hotmail to retrieve my emails. I cannot receive or send text messages. Is there some telephone support paid or unpaid to help me? Thanks in advance for any assistance! |

I can't get my Qtek 8500 to fully start up.
It starts up normally, showing the Qtek screen. After briefly showing the HTC screen, the phone then shows the Microsoft Windows Mobile screen - and stays that way. I can shut it down and start again using the power button but it will not go beyond showing the Windows Mobile screen. I can use the outside buttons to control the camera. When I close the phone, the external screen shows the standard information including that I have reception. When I call the phone, I get the mailbox after a few rings. The phone doesn't ring or anything. I have taken out the battery, SIM card, and memory card, and let it sit for a while before trying again. I tried turning it on without the SIM card and got the expected warning but then the phone got stuck again. I have experienced some freeze-ups over the last few months and required me taking out the battery to restart the phone. I did a full reset reinstalling it completely a few weeks ago and think that the phone was freezing up much less frequently. Any thought what could be the cause? OS corrupted? Battery defective? SIM card? Something more serious? I have been using this phone for 1.5 years now and updated the ROM in February. |

I have two good batteries both 100% charged. With the phone on for days and charged while still on there is no problem.
But once I press the power off key to turn the phone off I can not turn it back on again. It is not a problem with the rear battery cover or micro switch. The only way I can turn the phone back on is to remove the rear cover and reinstall it. Sometimes I have to do this more than once. please note that this sounds like a rear battery cover problem but it isn't. Because the phone operated well when turned on. And it stays on unless i turn it off. It's when i turn it off that the problem happens and it will not come back on. I have updated the rom image thinking i had corrupt software but it did not help. Anyone have any ideas?

I've done gone into the text msg-display section and checked the "display time and date" box and also selected the "descending" list by date menu option. The msg list still lists new msgs in time order and not by date. Anybody have a solution???

On the back of the phone is a little rubber button which covers a connection for an antenna/signal booster.
Since the signal is not great in my appartment I wonder if I can buy such a booster somewhere. anyone knows a place where to get this?

6. Using the drop downs, change both the Peak times and Off-peak times boxes to Manually.
7. Press the OK button at the top right of the screen. Congratulations! Activesync is now gagged from opening on it's own and ruining your life! Your work is not done just yet though - time to clean up and get rid of the now unwanted fake Exchange Server. 1. Go back into Activesync's Menu, then Tap Options. 2. Highlight Exchange Server, then tap Delete. A warning message will appear about removing files etc, but as you have no files associated with the fake Exchange Server, it's nothing to worry about - just tap Ok. 3. The list will now only show your remaining PC Sync connection(s). Obviously do not delete these! |

hi all, you might try the following to solve the missed call problem. Active sync caused a lot of problems in the axim, so I tried this is my dopod s300 and so far so good
1. Turn on your Axim 2. Go to Start > Programs > Activesync. This will open the Activesync program. 3. Tap Menu at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. This will bring up the Options Menu. Notice the option Schedule... is greyed out? This is the all-critical option we need to get access to. But as it's disabled we can't change Activesync's default synchronisation schedule. Ok, so how do we enable the Schedule option? Easy!!! Fool Activesync into thinking there is an Exchange Server to sync with: 1. From Activesync's Menu tap on Add Server Source. 2. In the following screens you can enter any old garbage. It does not matter, but just in case your unsure, just type the following in the indicated boxes: Server Address: fake Tap Next User name: fake Password: fake Domain: fake (Ticking save password or going into the Advanced menu makes no difference, so no need to bother). Tap Next Untick all of the 'Data you want to synchronise' options Tap Finish 3. Ok, we're done creating the server. You should now see in Activesync's main screen your normal Activesync connection(s), and a new connection called Exchange Server. 4. Go back into the Menu, and lo and behold the Schedule option is now enabled! Go ahead and tap it! 5. You will see that both options in the Schedule screen are set to Every 5 Minutes (A01 Rom), or Every 10 Minutes (A06 Rom). This simply will not do! ( * Advanced users - please see my note below * ) |
