The battery of my HTC Touch Cruise was totally drained yesterday without the phone shutting down.
Now, as soon as I plug in the charger, the phone boots up. But after the "smart mobility" screen, it shuts down and reboots itself. This loop continues endlessly. I already tried removing the SIM, removing the SD-card, soft reset, hard reset and I even re-installed the ROM (I can start up to the boodloader screen). However, still the same. The moment I pull the charger out, the phone is dead immediately. So I think the battery is still empty, but it doesn't charge! Does anyone recognise this problem and can you confirm that this will be solved when I buy a new battery?

2YO Touch is acting up something fierce. Charging is very unreliable, especially from power adapter 100% one minute and 50% the next. Charging turns off unpredictably.

Replace the battery? Or might something else be going wrong?
