Free up RAM in HTC Touch

Q:Is there a way to increase RAM on an HTC Touch. I am getting a low memory message but there are no large files to delete. Memory usage is 28MB for storage and 36MB for programs. Can I push some stuff (particularly my data--contacts, calendar etc) to the Storage card. Is there a way to configure that in the applications?. Is there a way to increase RAM to (say) 128MB?

I am not running many applications, just teh basic stuu (I see no applications running in the options dropdown, so why is my phone taking up 36MB?
