After installing ActiveSync 4.1, follow these steps to create a new partnership:
At this point, all of the information listed under the Information Type column should be synchronized between the device and Outlook. You can check this by browsing to the appropriate area on the device or computer.

- Connect the device to the computer. ActiveSync does not have to be open. When connected, the computer should detect the device and the Found New Hardware box should recognize it as a Generic RNDIS and Windows Mobile-Based Device. It will then indicate that the new hardware is installed and ready to use.
- Once the device has been detected, the Synchronization Setup Wizard will run.
- Click Next.
- Select the information to synchronize by checking the box next to each item.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish to close the wizard. The wizard will indicate that it is saving the settings before closing.
- After the wizard has closed, ActiveSync will start the synchronization process with the device. It will also display the sync progress of each category in the status column.
- When the synchronization is complete, ActiveSync will display Connected and Synchronized.
