Go to START---SETTINGS----SYSTEM---EXTERNAL GPS. Then on Programs Port use NONE, on Hardware Port use COM1 and on Access check Manage GPS .......and OK it
Now go to COMM MANAGER (you know... drag you finger from bottom to top, bring the little screen and drag you finger left or right until you find it) Click on it then on the botom right click on SETTINGS, choose BLUE TOOTH On Devices look for your already configurated GPS Receiver (mine is a BT-GPS-364183) click and hold it until EDIT and DELETE comes up, click on EDIT, check SERIAL PORT click OK, go to Mode check TURN ON BLUE TOOTH and MAKE THIS DEVICE VISIBLE TO ...... on COM Ports click and hold on your GPS Receiver (if none click on NEW OUT GOING PORT and choose your GPS Receiver) on PORT select COM1, again on PORT select COM1 and OK it. THAT'S IT Open google maps and use your GPS

Finally got this to work... here are the gotchas I ran into:
-After copying the CAB files to my BlackJack, I found they didn't show up in MyStuff. I had to go back to ActiveSync and put shortcuts to them on the Start menu to run/install them. -RegEditSTG is *very* confusing at first. When the left soft key says Values, it means it's displaying Keys, and Menu | 1 is New Key. Press Values and it says Keys, which means you're looking at Values, and can create a Value. Wow! Once you figure that out it's easy though. -Eventually I realized that the Bluetooth device "BT GPS" has to match the registry entries "BT GPS". My iBlue737 default device name was "iBT-GPS". I decided to change the registry entries to match. -Yes, I forgot the colon after the CommPort value! -One more restart and it worked! Thanks a million!!! It's terrific to have a $60 puck and free software doing real-time navigation. DaveO.

I have followed all the instructions listed above, but can't get the Google Maps app to load any GPS data. The Dash recognizes the GPS unit via Bluetooth, but all I get on Google Maps is "90 KB. Initializing GPS..." and then the "Cannot connecvt to GPS Hardware Error." Has anyone successfully gotten this to work with a Garmin GPS, or a Nuvi in particular? Any other suggestions?

Well, stupid me, turned out that somehow the cab file got turned into xml and would only open the browser when opened. So I downloaded again making sure it was the cab file, active synched to my blackjack, found the file ran it, set up the outgoing serial port and my gps (Delorme BT-20) is working with Google Mobile Maps.
If anyone needs help with this email mail me at joesands@aol.com |

Im confused as to why there is the need to pair with an actual bluetooth GPS if this is supposed to use the internal GPS. Also, after running the attached CAB and following the instructions to the T, Google Maps is unable to find the GPS. Tips? Tricks? Thanks :)

Works great - thanks! Do "App Unlock" then download and run "EnableRAPI" at same site (otherwise you will get "access denied" when trying to edit registry) then use "Registry Editor via ActiveSync". Follow other instructions exactly - no problems!

I edited the registry as instructed above but Google Maps cannot find my BT GPS. I am using com 7. It works with pocket streets and GPS View. I double checked my registry edits as well.
Is there anything else to try? Not sure where to go from here I really like the registry app - - makes editing a breeze.

Tried AEconfig and Enable RAPI but got "Access denied"
I used the Orange/France Telecom unlock service here:- http://spvunlock.rd.francetelecom.com/ To disable the Orange security features, and then the Mobile Registry editor via ActiveSync from the link on this page to create the reg entries. I'm using the TomTom GPS receiver over bluetooth on COM9 Thanks for documenting this - a great help! |

Works great! Had to download the Registry Editor, and EnableRAPI programs. After that, worked 100%. Please note, the reg entries don't already exist, so that's what it means to Manually create them.

I had to unlock the phone using AEConfig.exe first, but then I edited the registry using the application linked above and everything worked immediately.
