Mooseman2 Help available with the earpiece sound volume! 6 Yesterday, 11:11 AM EDT by Mooseman2

For those of you still straining to hear your callers from the earpiece, there is a sort of "hack" available to increase the sound volume immensely:
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6800-xv6800/90858-moderate-fix-low-volume-issues.html

I am using the "fine extended speaker" file and it works well. I suggest that you keep a copy of your original audiopara.csv file just in case you want to revert to it. I just drag and drop the new audiopara.csv file into the Windows folder of the mobile device using Windows Explorer from the desktop computer. It will ask you if you wish to replace the existing file. If it won't let you, check the file properties on the mobile device. You may need to enable "View all files" and "View system files" in your options. If it's set to "Read only" and "Hidden", remove those check marks. You should then be able to replace the file.

Soft reset your phone and enjoy hearing people calling you!

bobparr GPS on a Bell HTC6800 1 Aug 15 2008, 4:04 PM EDT by Anonymous

I just updated the ROM on my Bell HTC6800 using the kitchen provided by No_Chem. I'm just starting to play with the GPS capabilities and am wondering what port and baud setting is the built-in GPS set at? How can I test to see if the GPS works? I have a copy of TomTom from my old PPC that I plan to install into this phone but I'll obviously need to know what to set the settings in TomTom to.

Anonymous Bell HTC 6800 periodically does not wake up 0 Aug 14 2008, 5:22 PM EDT by Anonymous

I purchased an HTC 6800 from Bell two weeks ago. Since that time, on two occasions, the phone could not be woken up from sleep mode (by pressing the power button), and was unable to receive calls. A soft reset restored normal function. The phone has the very latest ROM version installed.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any fixes?

Tobradex Screen Protector for Bell HTC 6800 0 Aug 14 2008, 11:47 AM EDT by Tobradex

I bought the Invisible Shield from Zagg (full body one). I just got it last night. Anyone thinking of buying this should know a few things.....

1) It doesn't cover the back, camera lens, or buttons on your phone (nor the small thin silver pieces on the side of the screen, but it does cover the top and bottom silver pieces). So, when they say you can throw your phone in your pocket with keys...well sure you can, but you'll probably still get a scratch eventually.

2) Yea it's invisible if you're looking at it from 3 or more feet away. Close up, well of course you can see it, though it's not too noticable

3) The top and lower side pieces are easy to put on. The upper side pieces are tricky so if you don't have patience or are a perfectionist, be prepared to spend a lot of time trying to get it on right.

I live in T.O. and it took them almost a month to send me it. (But prolly cause they were backlogged with the new iphone shield orders).
