To synchronize information between your device and computer, use ActiveSync 4.1 or higher. Follow the steps below to synchronize information from Microsoft Outlook to your device.
Note: If you have lost the disk that came with your device, you can download the latest version of ActiveSync from the Microsoft website.

- Insert the Getting Started disk that came with the device into the CD-ROM drive.
- The disk should automatically start and detect if ActiveSync and Outlook are already installed on the computer.
- Click Next to scan for versions of Outlook and ActiveSync on the computer.
- The program will detect which programs need to be installed.
- Click Next to install the applications.
- Outlook will install first, followed by ActiveSync.
- The Install Shield will run and begin to install ActiveSync.
- Click Next on the first window to proceed with the installation.
- On the License Agreement window, check the button “I accept the terms..” after reading the license terms.
- Click Next to advance the installation.
- Enter the User Name and Organization, if desired.
- Click Next.
- Choose the destination folder in which to install the program.
- It is recommended that the default location C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\ be used.
- Click Next.
- Click Install to begin installation of ActiveSync.
- The Install Wizard will begin installing all necessary files to the computer, including drivers for the device.
- When the installation is done, the screen will indicate that the setup is complete.
- Click Finish.
- After the installation, ActiveSync will open with the Get Connected page.
- Connect the USB cable to the computer.
- Ensure that the device is on and connect it to the USB cable.
- Click Next after the device has been connected to the computer.
- Once the device is connected to the computer, the Found New Hardware wizard should recognize the device as a Generic RNDIS, followed by Windows Mobile-Based Device. It will then indicate that it has been installed and is ready to use.
- Once the computer has recognized the device, ActiveSync will open and attempt to detect the device. See Creating an ActiveSync Partnership.
